It’s bedtime for kiddos at my house, so I don’t have time to write a full post. We’ve had SUCH a busy weekend, as Em had her spring Art Underground show – Seussical – this weekend.

So I just have to say how proud I am of her. This is her fourth show and it’s by far the biggest role she’s ever had. She’s worked so hard to improve her singing, dancing and acting. As a “bird girl,” she was on stage for about 3/4 of the show and got a microphone for the first time! Congrats to my girl!! I’m lucky (and grateful) to have such a generous, kind, and talented daughter!

  1. Pretty costume! I’m sure Em was great!

  2. Very pretty and its obvious she gets her talent from her Mum! I am grateful the earthquake we had, was not as bad as first thought.

  3. I know it was great
    I can feel your parent-pride.
I am just a little sad that some rainbow had to die for that dress.
    :)

  4. That’s a very sweet post. My niece is a performer, too. It’s so fun to watch our little ones do what they love doing!

  5. I’ve watched our local Seussical and loved it. But I must say that Em is the prettiest bird girl ever!

  6. She looks gorgeous! And I bet she had a terrific time! Seussical is such a fun play. My daughter did it in 6th grade – she was the Baby Kangaroo and a bird girl (they had a very small class!) – but our bird girl costumes were not that beautiful! :)

  7. When you’re in 5th/6th grade at our school, you get to perform in an operetta. 6th grade does the actual playing of the characters, and the rest of the 6th grade is in chorus with the whole of 5th grade. I can’t wait for next year! ;)

  8. So much fun. Killin’ it in that costume. Why can’t everybody everywhere wear striped tights every day?? That’s what I want to know!

  9. Melanie Ellsworth

That’s wonderful! And what a great costume too.

  10. I would love to wear that costume! Sounds like she did well. Watching your children develop and learn through hard work is one of the greatest joys of being a parent.

  11. She sure has her mom’s determination and self-confidence. Lovely photo!

  12. Your baby girl looks like she has plenty self confidence – what a charmer!

  13. Great costume, very Seuss-ish. She looks like she has quite the personality :D

  14. She looks fabulous! I bet that was a great show she did! Y’all had a fine weekend!
