Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

The week began with a freeze and ended with a thaw. Both appreciated.

Quotes on Gratitude

“Does not the gratitude of the dog put to shame any man who is ungrateful to his benefactors?” — Saint Basil

“It’s a sign of mediocrity when you demonstrate gratitude with moderation.” — Roberto Bernigni

“Of all the characteristics needed for both a happy and morally decent life, none surpasses gratitude. Grateful people are happier, and grateful people are more morally decent.” — Dennis Prager

  1. I’m so thankful that my husband made it home safely from Mexico, my daughter drove on snow for the first time and had no problems, and I’m thankful that so many of the 12 x 12 members entered Terrie’s and my contest. 🙂

  2. Friends and family staying safe through snow, ice, snow, ice, and did I say snow….?

  3. I am grateful for my “sister of the belly”–my dear friend Sinda. We were pregnant together over 30 years ago. My hair was falling out by handfuls this week, due to the chemo I’m going through, so she had me over, lit some incense, thanked my hair for keeping me warm and protecting me, and then buzzed it off. She turned what could have been an upsetting event into a ceremony of gratitude!

  4. Delicious food I’d never tried before and not having to cook it 🙂 Long weekend 🙂

  5. Glad to hear Rocky is doing better and sounds like you had a good food week. I’m grateful that we are all healthy & having an uneventful week. Grateful for running 10 miles today on my way to training for my first half marathon in a month.

  6. Yay Rocky! 🙂 We have over one foot of snow here. 🙂

  7. Thankful for our three youngest grandchildren. Because they are 7, 5, and 3 in age, I write; just saw the “Lego Movie,” but envisioned a whole new story – a sci-fi about the pacifier that fell from a sleeping child’s mouth and rolled down 7 rows in the theatre, coming to rest in a pile of popcorn heaped on the floor. What a day
