Great for al fresco dining on Pearl Street

I realize it’s Monday, but it is a holiday in the States, so I figured I could get away with posting Gratitude Sunday a day late.  It feels like Sunday here.  Happy Labor Day to my Stateside readers!

Quotes on Gratitude

“You are like a candle. Imagine you are sending light out all around you. All your words, thoughts and actions are going in many directions. If you say something kind, your kind words go in many directions, and you yourself go with them.” — Thich Nhat Hahn

“If I only have the will to be grateful, I am so.” — Seneca

“Thanksgiving is good, but thanks-living is better.” — Matthew Henry

Gratitude List for the week ending September 3

  1. The weather finally cooled off – fall approaches.
  2. Being able to run outside without wringing my clothes out afterward
  3. Sitting outside at a Pearl Street Trattoria for dinner on a perfect night
  4. Having a great heart-to-heart with a friend over tea.
  5. Family BBQ
  6. Completing a major revision on my newest picture book manuscript
  7. Getting geared up (and excited for) ski season
  8. The owl that’s been hooting in the backyard at night
  9. Now that it’s cooler, the crickets are chirping all day.
  10. Em got a very cute role in the 101 Dalmations musical

What are you grateful for this week?

  1. I, too am grateful of cooler weather. But lament the end of summer. I love summer and the end to coat weather and the need to heat the house.
I am also grateful for my husbands back getting better, finally and the MRI that said it wasn’t as bad as it could have been and the prednisone he’s on.
I will make my list to God tonight as it is too long to post here. But I am grateful for so many things and He knows what they are. I’ll tell Him never the less for me.

  2. Glad you had a good week, Julie. We tend to do that when we look for the good. 😀

  3. As always, a lovely list of thanks. 🙂 I look forward to your list every week.

For me, I am thankful for one very small, but great thing: A group of amazing friends that always know the right thing to say. 🙂 Life is good.

  4. Grateful for a little cooler weather, too.

  5. Enjoyed your list, Julie.

    #6 must feel good!

I am grateful for great relationships with colleagues and students as we enter into a new school year.
