All good things must come to an end

Alas, even the best parties must come to an end. As I take down the streamers, throw the empty bottles into the recycling bin and sweep up the crumbs, I am still reveling in the great memories. I think 41 is a good turnout for the first 12 x 12 blog party, and now that the rest of you know how much fun we had, hopefully you’ll join in for the year-end gala.

In addition to my rap anthem, we also enjoyed the following:

And so much more! Each and every post is worth reading, so please go through and support our 12xers. The entire list is at the bottom of this post.

For those of us in the U.S., we can console ourselves with fireworks, sparklers, hot dogs, ice cream and lots of Independence Day fun. Somehow, I don’t think it will match up. 😉  Nonetheless, Happy 4th of July!!

  1. It was a great party, thanks for hosting it Julie. The cake has been eaten, the crumbs wiped away and the tin and food colouring put back in the cupboards…lol. Head down now for some serious work in the next 6 months and looking forward to what you have lined up with the guests. Enjoy your 4th of July celebrations, all the best.

  2. What a super, bodacious party! I enjoyed myself immensely. I never finished my post. *sigh* We had a car wreck and totaled our car. But I had good intentions! Happy 4th, Julie!

  3. Awh thanks for the shout out Julie. You are great at throwing parties. I’m not sure if fireworks will match up either 😉

    Happy 4th July!!!!

  4. Mmm… That was a good giant strawberry cake… I am still here, waiting for more giant sweet stuff, and helping clean up after the party…

  5. Fantastic party, Julie! You are the perfect hostess. The party may be over (for now) but the celebration continues, as we support, encourage, and cheer each other through the next six months. To US! To 12 x 12! and to JULIE HEDLUND, the founder of the feast!!! Thanks, Julie!

  6. Girl, you DO know how to throw a party. May I offer my services to come and slurp up the crumbs?

    Love and licks,

  7. Sadly I was away and missed the entire thing! I am looking forward to going back through all the links and seeing what everyone did!

  8. Just sorry I didn’t get a bite of Dianne’s cake!

  9. One of the best things about the party, Julie, was that I connected with and visited new (to me) 12×12’ers…what fun!!!! When I get home from Chicago tomorrow, I’ll check and make sure I didn’t miss anyone who came. 🙂 We are all very grateful to you…Kudos on a job well-done…and we are only half-way there. 🙂

  10. Julie, after taking a chance and writing from the heart, I have to say it was worth it. I am not alone even though it sometimes feels that way. What was great for me was being in touch with other 12×12’ers through their blog links. I visited every blog except one that the link didn’t work on, but I sent her an email instead. So very much I appreciate the feedback from my own post. (A huge thanks, everyone!)
I love being a writer … as little as I sometimes seem to manage … even though I’m still finding my wings. This blog hop was encouraging to me, Julie, so I thank you many times over for taking this whole thing on and giving us all the push we needed. Blessings and hugs.

  11. First, I have to say thank you. Your blog is a wealth of information and I smile every time I click over because it’s so bright and happy. Great colors!

Congrats on your party. Now that my middle grade fantasy is done you’ve inspired me to get back to work on my pictures books. Thank you.

  12. It was a great party! A blast visiting other blogs, and I still have some to visit.
We gotta do this again! Maybe at 3rd quarter…?

  13. Hi Julie,
Just wanted you to know that I’ve passed along several blogging awards to you…don’t know if you have received some or all of them yet…but your blog is amazing and I want others to know how much I appreciate all that you do:
